Adam Kennedy
Adam Kennedy is a journalist with an interest in European football – specialising in the Scottish game – and American soccer.
Able to work independently or as part of a team, Adam is an effective communicator who is comfortable both in front of and behind a camera. He’s also a terrific writer, with exceptional time management abilities.
Kennedy began writing for statistics website WhoScored.com in 2019, creating prediction pieces covering suspected lineups and providing potential outcomes with accompanying scorelines for each and every Scottish Premiership match.
Having developed a passion for radio, previously providing statistics for BFBS Radio’s Saturday Sport Goal Predictor, he’s appeared on Forth 1, Clyde 1 Superscoreboard and BBC Radio 5 Live.
He presented a weekly show on UWS Radio “Up There For Thinkin’” with football, darts and other sports at the epicentre of conversation.
Whilst studying at the University of the West of Scotland, he volunteered at Scottish Lowland League side East Kilbride Football Club as a Matchday Media Assistant.
Providing supporters with social media updates on the club’s Twitter feed on matchdays, he has interviewed numerous players and managers both before and after EK matches.
As a result of his coursework which included news packages at Beechwood Park and K-Park in the academic year of 2022/23 – the season which he volunteered at the Kilby – Kennedy was rewarded with the ‘Rising Star’ award at UWS.
Having won the 2022/23 Court Medal for coursework carried out at East Kilbride FC, alongside work on UWS Radio and at WhoScored.com, Adam followed the manager and working staff to St Cadocs Youth Club – in the West of Scotland Premier Division.
After building a strong working relationship with playing and coaching staff, he leads their social media output on matchdays across all platforms including managerial interviews and live updates.
In his final year at the University of the West of Scotland, Kennedy began working with Ayr United FC by conducting pre-match press conferences and interviewed the likes of Lee Bullen and Scott Brown alongside various players.
To accompany his passion for British and European football, he previously wrote on Major League Soccer by covering Philadelphia Union for Last Word on Soccer.
Founder and co-host of Perth to Paisley, he has appeared on a variety of different podcasts such as Talk Scottish Football, SM Media and Open Goal.
Other appearances include Sportscene, Football Scotland and Sky Sports Scotland, having also featured in The Herald, The Rangers Review and worked with Heart of Midlothian’s FC official charity – Big Hearts.
